This year, around 100 staff from UK, Irish and Canadian Internorm distribution partners gathered in Buckinghamshire to learn about new and innovative product launches, celebrate the achievements from the past year, and enjoy spending time in each others’ company.
There are plenty of new and exciting window and door products that will be available for anyone looking to selfbuild, renovate or build to Passivhaus standard. A stunning new timber-aluminium window, and a stylish new entrance door, as well as an interesting new I-tec innovation. I-tec Decor will be available on our uPVC and uPVC-aluminium range in 11 new printed designs, offering fantastic customisation opportunities to add interest to the inside of your Internorm KF windows and KS lift & slide door ranges.
We also had the pleasure of Barry McCarron providing an insightful and very popular presentation on his EnerPHit project in Ireland incorporating Internorm’s triple glazed KF 410 uPVC-aluminium window, installed by Interlux Systems, to achieve certification. Barry is well-known within the Passivhaus community. Not only is he Head of Industry and Business Support at South West College, but also ex-Chair of the Passive Haus Association of Ireland. As a trained architect and Passivhaus designer, Barry’s retrofit home is not just his home but also his project. His experience and learnings provided valuable insight for our distribution partners at the UK Partner Meeting.

The Ryan Wernicki Installation Award
Last year Internorm UK introduced the Ryan Wernicki Installation Award, in memory of Ryan, who sadly passed away in 2022. Ryan worked for Internorm Distribution Partner Scotia Architectural Glazing and a well-loved and respected member of the Internorm family.
This year we asked three independent judges to assess the entries and select their winner.
- Gipi Sagoo – G-tec: Gipi and his team have installed Internorm windows and doors for large commercial projects for many years
- Allan Corfield – Allan Corfield Architects: Alan is a trained architect and and has been delivering seminars and keynote talks at events throughout the UK
- Michael Holmes – Homebuilding & Renovating: Michael is Director of Content at Homebuilding & Renovating, Vice Chair of the National Custom and Self Build Association and presenter of over 150 property shows for the BBC, ITV and Channel 5.
The entries received were outstanding, unique projects and perfectly demonstrated the versatility of Internorm triple glazed, high-performance windows and doors. This made the judges’ job of picking the winner even more difficult.
Ryan Wernicki Installation Award Entries
And the winner is … Outer Hebrides Koto Cabin by Spectrum Architectural Glazing.
What the judges said about the winning entry:
“A bold but beautiful response to a rugged site in a truly spectacular setting. The angular architecture and strong black clad form demanded a glazing solution of equally strong proportions and profile. With a brief to deliver a passive house in a highly exposed location and amongst the harshest weather conditions in the British Isles, and a design demanding 3m tall sliding doors – the choice of glazing solution was integral to being able to deliver this ambitious project.” Michael Holmes.
“Logistics on this, getting items there and site install, would not have been easy.” Gipi Sagoo.
Two projects narrowly missed out and were therefore awarded Highly Commended:
- Passivhaus, Yorkshire – Spectrum Architectural Glazing
- Cape Cove, Helensburgh – Scotia Architectural Systems
A huge thank you to the judges and congratulations to all who entered, especially Spectrum Architectural Glazing for their winning entry.
